Max Dias Schwartz is an Catarinense politician who is serving as the 9th Prime Minister of Santa Catarina since 2014. He previously served in the Ministry of International Relations and in the Ministry of Finance, nowdays he is Member of the Parliament by the District of Joinville since 2010. He also served as Member of the Parliament by the District of Desterro between 1995 and 1999.

Schwartz was born in Blumenau, New Pomerânia on April 17, 1960. He grew up in Joinville for 3 years and in Desterro as an adult. He began studying in 1978 at the David Canabarro University, in Desterro, where he graduated in Law in 1982. He lectured at the University of Joinville for 8 years, 4 years as Director of the Law Faculty. He met his wife in 1992 in Balneario Camboriú, marrying in 1997 in Desterro. He entered the Liberal Party of Santa Catarina in 1993, working at the top of the party. He grew up in the party and became a candidate for Member of Parliament for Desterro in 1994, winning the election and remaining until 1999. In 1998 he accepted the request of President Elias Birch to be Minister of Finance, remained Minister of Finance under Clara Weber's government until 2004. In 2010 he became Minister of International Relations, where he remained until becoming the Prime Minister in 2014.
