Re: Re: Update Center - Okataian Scripture

What does Okataian writing look like ?

On the forums I use hangeul, but Oka has it's own scripture based on phonetics called " Sandu " that was designed using Chinese and kanji characters, it was designed to allow peasants and commoners to be able to read and write and thus allowed Oka to be one of Asia's most literate country in the 16th century.

Here are a few words to enjoy

______

Image
The nation's name Oka, composed top to bottom from O, K and A

______

Image
Ryukyu, our neighboring islands, you'll see the "yu" sounds on both symbols

______

Image
Teiko

______

Image
Jitei, a city of Oka's southern coast, you'll notice the "tei" sound is the same as in "tei"ko

Oh nice, if only we can implement it in wiki, you can use it instead of hangul like at this moment.

KOHEI AVENUE
Between dreams and nightmares

_____

Image
Kohei Avenue, named after King Kohei connects the Okataian National Museum to Tanyu Creek, along it are many large buildings, some like the Oka-City City Hall of 1978 are public, but the newer and largest ones are private..

_____

Image
That is because Kohei Avenue is Oka's largest gambling area, with many casino's

_____

Image
The "Empire Casino" is the largest casino is the country, it's design is based on traditional palace architecture

_____

Image
Even the interiors mimick the Okataian Imperial Palace, an almost surreal area

_____

Image
The small buildings that remain are threatened by the construction of a New Casino by International Investors

_____

Image
Old and New, Small and Large, Kohei Avenue embodies a city in perpetual transformation, a city where the dreams of wealth and grandeur of some are the nightmare of others

Hope you liked this update :) I'd love to hear feedback

Thanks! Asian cities, as ugly and complex as they can be, somehow tend to be very authentic in a way, what happens, is what you see

EAST OISHI
What does your money get you?

_____
► Show Spoiler
Regional View, Oishi is the central Island, and we are in East Oishi, the most built up part with the Marina
_____

Image
Some of the most expensive flats in Oka City are in Oishi Island, this is Marina Bay Phase 2 - Where the 4 Room serviced flats are some of the most sought after flats in the city, but really who lives there? We're not too sure

_____

Image
The scale of these new buildings is out of this world. Just like the casino there is an element of gigantism going in Oka City..

_____

Image
Realistically, you're more likely to find someone living in these Government estates

_____

Image
These people live near the MTS (subway) stop, because many don't actually own a car, unlike the inhabitants of Marina Bay

_____

Image
Tanyu MTS Stop is quite a big hub, as it's connects 2 subway lines, the Overground rail and 10 bus lines!

_____

Image
The Government estates were built between the 90's and 2000's for most of the part, and for the property developpers Hong Kong's typology could fit well in the dense context of Oishi Island..

_____

Image

Oka City built itself as a garden city from the 50's ownards, but what we see here is that the great commodities that are greenery and water have ironically become a rare and discriminating element, with most of the poorest Okataians only having a concrete plaza at the base of their twenty floor tower..

Such is the reality of the Asian capitalistic city, where any asset is a commodity
