Riyadh is the Capital of The Riyadh Islamic Federation, and with over 3,000,000 people living in the Riyadh Metropolitan Area it is the second largest city in the Federation.

Image
The Nashid International Gateway has undergone massive expansion to handle the expected increase in air traffic in the city.

New hotels have risen around Riyadh which will accommodate the patrons of Super Sunday, such as the Maze Tower.

The Stadiums

Image
The first is Abd-Al-Karim Stadium, original built in 2004 to hold 40,000 fans the Stadium was renovated in 2006 increasing capacity to 43,000 and then again in 2009 to 47,000. The stadium features a retractable roof, underground parking, 2 fountains, and 15 elevators.

..and Soccer City Stadium being the second! The stadium was built in 2010 for the growing demand of modern day sports. Able to hold 55,000 dedicated fans it was chosen to be the main stadium for Super Sunday. The pavement used around the stadium was made to look like sand to give off a desert feeling to spectators. Speaking of the desert, don't like the heat? It won't be a problem, the stadium uses carbon neutral cooling systems to keep the temperature low. Soccer City Stadium is only minutes away from downtown shopping centers and has a massive Subway system connecting the stadium with popular sites around Riyadh making it the perfect location. :P[/centre]

Some Tips about bidding...

Usually I like bids that show different places and areas of cities more overall. It's nice to see a mixture of themes. When it comes down to it, it isn't overly difficult to create American/Arabian/Asian (etc.) themed cities, but what is hard is to incorporate your own creativity into your work. Whether it be through complex transit systems (metro services) or through beaches, marinas, harbors, etc, it is always nice to see someone who's work is different from the standard, you know? It can be really easy to do too, you just put in something people usually wouldn't put there :P

Emir, in your case a golf course next to a hotel resort would look fantastic for a bid, and unlike cityscapes, roads, and towers, a layed out well planned beach resort would make your bid unique, esp. If it offered services directly to the event.

SimEmirate, in your case just some simple narration would go a long way. You can make a whole lot of bullcrap too :P
Example: "This is the Aqua Park Stadium. Housing over 40,000 dedicated fans, the stadium finished construction in 2005 and was renovated several times in order to create a better suited complex for modern sports. Featuring underground parking, neon lighting, and centered only minutes away from major shopping districts, it is the perfect spot to host the Super Sunday sports events." (psst:don't copy that explicitly)

Try to be unique with names too. Emirate Stadium sound cliché, but something like Krashel Arena? That sounds more unique. In fact, it's really easy to name Arabic areas too. Consonant-consonant-vowel-consonant-consonant-vowel-consonant (repeat or cut short as necessary)...

Both bids looked fantastic, but since it is so close, this is my advice :P
Good Luck!

Good to see well orientated bids! As Ace said, it could have some oomph into it to increase your chances of winning but your bids are still great just as they are!

Also, just to let you know how the winner will be chosen, I'll pick a few members and they'll vote for which bid they like. The one with the most votes will be chosen as the host for this month's Super Sunday.

I knew SimEmirate would win. His bid was much better, and Riyadh seems to be better suited to host major events like this.

So, I'd like to say: Congratulations, SimEmirate! Your bid was wonderful and you truly deserve to host the next Super Sunday! :D

But... I WILL be back next time. :P
