Regional Government Bulletin Board

Post by RedAurora » December 29th 2013, 10:44 pm

This thread will act as a bulletin board for all of the regional/territorial governments of Sainte-Croix. This is where any government other than the federal government will make announcements, and important regional legislations in the future, if there are any, will be posted.

His Royal Highness' Regional Government of Hansealand on the rejection of thorium-based nuclear energy:

Our regional assembly has voted to reject the implementation of a thorium-based nuclear power program due to important scientific research from various countries showing that the reliability of thorium as an alternative to uranium-based nuclear energy may not be accurate. Based on this research, we believe that the lack of necessary fissile material in thorium renders it incapable of catalysing a chain reaction; the attempt to do so renders a different isotope with a very lengthy half-life period that is extremely radioactive. While we are willing to conduct further research in this potential energy source, we currently believe that it is a very unsustainable and dangerous element and cannot realistically be implemented as an efficient power source. We do realise that the Federal Kingdom of Lower Columbia and the Federal Republic of Neu Westfalen have made significant research into this element, and therefore we invite experts from both nations to meet with the Hansealander Minister-President in Mermark in the coming weeks for a discussion on nuclear energy. Thank you.

You will buy our thorium technology [waves hand].

To the Regional Government of Hansealand from the Chancellery of the Federal Republic of Neu Westfalen.
We would be happy to meet with the Hansealander Minister-President to discuss this matter further. Fortgeschrittene Spaltung (Advanced Fission) CEO - Diesel Ehrhardt is available for further discussions on the matter. We believe Thorium nuclear power is one of the most advantageous forms of power generation available today, unfortunately many have an unfair disdain for anything nuclear; which we aim to rectify through education wherever we can.

Weird, I didn't get a PM for this...

I don't know much about it, tbh. Zack, Spy and Nat rave about it and they're paying for it so I just agreed. :P

It's up to you to convince the Minister-President, Nat.

His Royal Highness' Regional Government of Hansealand to the Chancellery of the Federal Republic of Neu Westfalen:

While we welcome the CEO from the Fortgeschrittene Spaltung to visit Mermark next week, we believe that your government is misled as to the reasons why we have rejected thorium-based energy at the moment. We do not possess a "disdain for anything nuclear"; our government having considered such legislation in the first place should show that a large portion of our regional assembly was willing to switch to thorium-based energy. We have rejected the bill due to the lack of necessary fissile material within the element of thorium, which ultimately requires that the power source be converted into a highly radioactive and long-lasting isotope. That being said, we hope that the CEO of Fortgeschrittene Spaltung will address our concerns and explain the potentials of thorium-based energy. Thank you.

His Royal Highness' Commonwealth Government of Victorinica on the upcoming AINvision contest:

Due to the arising costs from the internal public works and infrastructural reconstruction projects since the aftermath of Hurricane Fabienne last year, our government has not been able to provide sufficient funding for the Victorinican AINvision Board. As a result, Victorinica will not be competing independently in the AINvision contest this time, and will instead compete as part of the Croisian AINvision Board. We apologise for any inconveniences that this situation has caused, and we thank you.
