The Alliance Progressive Union is a centre-left political international for the progressive and social-democratic parties of the Alliance of Independent Nations. In today's key issues, the APU is on the side of social justice; the APU advocates government assistance for underachieving populations, ensuring functioning infrastructure, reduced living costs and civil/political rights.[/centre]

Official Name of Party: SosialistiskParti Hjorten (Lovedelundian Socialist Party)
Three Letter Abbreviation: SPH (commonly SP)
Logo: Link here soon
Leader: Jans Hanneson (PM)
Party Platform: SP combines a democratically elected parliamentary governance system, with full representation, with a socialist economic stance. The state owns most large corporations to keep them in check and profitable, but aims for friendly competition to sustain a healthy economy. They have aimed for a contemperary social democracy, while transitioning slowly towards democratic socialism.

How "socialist" are they, exactly? :P

This is a serious question. If they're very centrist left, then this is the correct thread. :P If they're not quite centrist, the IWS might be a better option. :D

They are centrist left for sure. Perhaps I can work on a wiki article detailing more on SP. :)
I intend to submit a party for each thread so no worries!

I find it a bit ironic that a Christian socialist organization is in favour for abortion rights and support of the LGBT community. :P Perhaps you are modeling your system on the New Democratic Party of Canada?

It's not as ironic as you might think. There's actually a sizeable number of Christians in the real world who support one or both of those causes; they're the Christian Left. Since a huge majority of Lower Columbians are Christian, a center-left political party inevitably has to include some of them if it wants to survive. :P

NO! Anyone who supports abortion must be a godless atheist Maoist commie like Obama! :envy:

Anyways :P I also think it makes sense. I think there can be religious parties on all sides of the spectrum. Therefore, welcome aboard! :D
