Travel Status Ratings - Work In Progress

Post by YingBlanc » October 11th 2013, 6:24 pm

Travel Status Ratings

The Travel Status Ratings are a rating scale for travel inside of Histalpol during different events to inform travellers and those living both temporarily and permanently in Histalpol. They are devised by the Ministry of Foreign Relations in collaboration with the Ministry of Defence, mostly to inform travellers predominately. They range from no threat and keeping a vigilant watch on activities and reporting strange behaviour or events, to a total shut-down of the area and evacuation out of safety of residents and travellers.

The rating scales can be shown below with a link to a Google Document created by the Ministry of Foreign Relations that explains what each of the symbols represent. The list shall be updated frequently with different events oncoming and occurring, but they will always fall under the month that is listed below. The rating currently given will be set back to Rating 1 after 2 months of it being increased or decreased, any actions in that area before the 2 months has finished will increase or decrease the rating.

Nation Wide Rating
There is no immediate crime/disaster in Histalpol and no reports of damaged infrastructure on buildings, gaseous odours from the ground, suspicious behaviour of a person or vehicle, other indicators of possible crime/disaster. There are no current major events occurring and small gaps in time between the previous major attack (Attack on Wilson International College, Luesseu, Sainte-Croix, 18 September) which warrants vigilance in Histalpol.

The rating shall decrease to Rating 1 on 13 November, unless an event occurs between the current and that time to increase the level from it's current rating.

*Luesseu, not "Luessue"... :P I understand some of the names are difficult to spell, that's why I advise copying & pasting. :)

Anyways, good work! :D Indeed, hopefully nothing happens between now and November... D:

St. Francees Square
Protests are present at St. Francees Square where a large amount of embassies are located. Police will be present to insure the protest stays peaceful and suspicious people and vehicles will be searched by police on the scene. No travel implications have been set because of this protest. This rating shall decrease to Rating 1 on 23 January, unless an event occurs between the current and that time to increase the level from it's current rating.

(This rating wasn't planned in advance and quickly thrown together, a more in depth one can be created later)

Why would peaceful protests cause increased national security? It'd be like US moving up to DEFCON-1 because of Occupy Wall Street.

It's not Emir, peaceful protests are peaceful, but still need police supervision to make sure it DOESN'T become a riot, and ratings 2 and below do not allow for police presence so rating 3 is the lowest it can be to have police supervision, remember that rating 4 is a massive gap from rating 3, in which rating 3, nothing happens but forces must be present, rating 4 is the aftermath of a major crime. Just look at the document I linked for the details behind the ratings.
