Cairns, Queensland - 2013 AIN Most Livable City - Recreation

Post by RedAurora » February 22nd 2013, 12:48 pm

Image

Recreation Q1: What services does the city provide for the residents' recreational purposes?

Residents and tourists are more than welcome to visit Cairns' many protected forest sites, such as the Mount Whitfield Conservation Park, shown in Picture 1.1.

Here, visitors can view rainforest vegetation and animals of different species. Visitors can also attempt the Red Arrow Circuit, which is slightly more than a kilometre long, or the Blue Arrow Circuit, which is five and a half kilometres long and is very challenging.

The Sugarworld Parklands and the Cattana Conservation Park are also great reserves to visit. In addition, over a dozen public swimming pools are available throughout Greater Cairns, and community centres and gardens (maintained by local residents) serve as attractions.

The Essex Leisure Centre, in the nearby suburb of Essex, is a new, state-of-the-art leisure centre that has many amenities, and can sustain major cyclone winds, which is crucial.

Recreation Q2: Are there sporting facilities which can be used by the public?

The Westcourt Central Stadium (Picture 2.1), in nearby Westcourt, is home to the professional cricket, rugby, and international rules football teams of Cairns. While this is a major stadium with a large capacity, residents and tourists are allowed to use the venue when a game isn't being played.

Barlow Park, like Westcourt Central, grants limited use to residents and tourists. Barlow Park (Picture 2.2) is an IAAF facility and is also home to several professional teams.

What services does the city provide for the residents' recreational purposes?

Public museums like the Imperial History Museum of Cattala are free to visit and open almost every day of the year. They have many special facilities for schools and group tours and encourage learning and understanding, making education fun.

The many canals and streams of Celeste are appealing opportunities to go on leisurely bicycle rides, jogs and walks with the dogs. Fully accessible by public transport and open to all, Celeste's towpaths are beautiful sites and help to make the city a bright and inviting place.

Image

Sports play an important part in the recreational life of Celeste. The Stadio di Lady Eliza is the second-biggest in the country, with a seating capacity of 42,000. It hosts football matches, athletics championships and sometimes even music concerts. Located in the heart of Aziens, it's not to be missed.

The Dionysus Arena is the main concert venue in Celeste. Hosting international pop superstars, talent contests and sometimes even the National Philharmonic Orchestra, the Arena is a cultural gem.

Are there sporting facilities open to the public?

Celeste is an important centre for Cattala's sporting and leisure industries. Football stadiums and tennis courts including the Stadio di Lady Eliza, one of the two main stadiums in Cattala, and the Alder Court Park, are examples of Celeste's key sports centres. Both are modern facilities that are open to the public, schools and local charities many days of the year.

Nogovicka AIN's Most Livable City

Recreation Q1: What services does the city provide for the residents' recreational purposes?

Nogovicka is the cultural capital of Albion Slavic Republic. Here many can find what they like from Opera to Clubs, Art Galleries to Parks and etc. Nogovicka is a very opened city for many to visit and live in.

Nogovicka has 5 major parks in the city area and smaller in city. With forest parks outside the Nogovicka Highway Ring (NHR). Many citizens enjoy the vast parks in the city and rarely go to the the forest, as its easier to visit a park near your home.

Nogovicka Stadium is the largest in the Albion Black Sea Area, with plans to be used in the next Alliance Games.

On the Elektrozavodsk district you can visit the best shopping malls, club areas, bars and other great places. As prooven many times Nogovicka is the best city to live in.

Recreation Q2: Are there sporting facilities which can be used by the public?

There are multiple sproting facillites from swimming pools, to stadiums build around the city for the 7 districts of the city.

What services does the city provide for the residents' recreational purposes?
Engatoshi's major recreational area is Hikaiko Park. Designed for both residents and tourists, it provides a seaside recreational park for those who love taking a view of the ocean. It is home to a wooden roller coaster for children who are desperate to ride, and many locals set up shop in the market area. The Ledge of Beauty is located along the coast of Engatoshi and provides a nice view of the ocean. It is also a popular spot for airplane spotters.

Engatoshi has many neighborhood parks for those who don't want to drive to Hikaiko Park. The city also applied for funding a new park, Tochira Park, which will give residents a place to get their daily exercise routines done or have a relaxing picnic in the summer. The park is planned to be completed by 2017.
