Well Cattala had a Chancellor, doing exactly the same as a Prime Minister, in the 12th century. Would that count as a Prime Minister?
To me, the best claim would be that Sainte-Croix had the first head of government that was independent of the head of state. However, that wouldn't be true.
But if you're trying to state that you were the first country to call it "Prime Minister", then that is quite a flimsy record.

Well, Sainte-Croix has had a chief minister position (whose duties are also the same as a Prime Minister) since the 10th century, but only in the 17th century was the position officially established under the title "Prime Minister". Until then it wasn't really official, but the chief minister still did the work of a PM. :P

I dunno, Thomas, what do you suggest? :P

I didn't think Sainte-Croix was a nation state in the 900AD century?

From what date was your Prime Minister in an elected position?

Sainte-Croix has had a chief minister position since the Duchy of Lexovia, both of which began in 988 CE.

The Prime Minister position was elected by members of Parliament (which itself was elected by the wealthiest men in the country) from its beginning in 1686 until the Chilaibourg Spring in 1789, when SC became a fully-constitutional monarchy and the PM as well as the Parliament became elected by the citizens.

I hope that explains. :P

The only claim I could really see being a significant record, which is what this should be for, is claiming the oldest elected head of government, which you could date back to 1686. Although that depends on how old some of the republics around here are, and similar positions with other monarchies.

Well, if there are older head-of-government positions, I'll change my record. :)

Do we need new "Did you know?" facts? It's been a while since they were updated.
I've come up with two population statistics:
82% of AIN's population lives in the top 10 most populous nations. (700,736,588 out of 853,614,530), 56% in the top 5.
and
73% of New Duvelanders live in capital cities, or in 4% of the total land area.

I'd put them in myself but I don't have access to the main page/"Did you know?" section. :P

Thanks Cm but this isn't the tread for the "Did you know?" facts, even though they are SORELY needed. That sorta stuff goes into the wiki thread here; http://www.aoin.eu/forums/viewtopic.php ... &start=135
